Esquel Group is committed to nurturing civil society organizations and networks in LatinAmerica. These include not only grassroots groups organized by citizens but also NGOs providing services, credit or research for civil society and its issues as well as social movements engaged in promoting causes and advocating for policy changes.

What we can do for clients in the North

  1. For corporate development investors, private donors and multinational private voluntary organizations with interest in civil society links from the developed countries Esquel Group can offer:
  2. Program development support.
  3. Institutional design advice on programs or specific issues pertaining to grassroots development, community driven development, asset-based community development and bottom-of-the pyramid initiatives.
  4. Networking contacts and referrals in developing countries among public, private and civic organizations.
  5. Hands-on support in the generation and management of pubic-private-civic partnerships on the ground.

For clients in the South Esquel Group can offer:

  1. Networking and referral contacts in the North, including public, private, multinational, private voluntary organizations and foundation actors.
  2. Assistance in project development, sources of funding and proposal guidelines
  3. Assistance to gain legal status, legitimacy and a place at the policy table.
  4. Conduct or coordinate research which calls attention to their achievements, and to ways that civil society can be strengthened.
  5. Facilitate access to diverse sources of information and technical assistance (e.g., universities, government agencies, and research centers).
  6. Organize round-tables and other educational activities, including Esquel’s long-running monthly Civil Society Task Force in Washington.
  7. Help CSOs from Latin America to access potential funding sources, and reciprocally, work with foundations and others seeking to link with and support CSOs in Latin America.
